What: Gnarly Adventure Challenge
Where: The entirety of the GMT
Why: For fun. To demonstrate your passion for and connection to our unique trail system. To win a rock pendant (1st correct entry) and a limited edition GMT sticker or earn a GMT sticker while supplies last (they’re not for sale!)
When: until the end of time, as far as we know.
How: Look for pieces of a quote posted on trees abutting the downhill side of each trail included in the challenge (32 of them) at about eye level on the back of the tree. Take a photo of the clue or jot it down in a notebook, but please leave the clue intact out of respect to others. Difficult trails are part of the course so take due care. You can bike, hike, run, or dance your way through the challenge. It matters not.
Put the quote together arranged in order, including the number and trail initials (written in red on the clue) and send it to us by either email ([email protected]) or DM. You can find the clues by utilizing the following crib sheet arranged in no particular order.

Trail initials (hint: you can decipher them on trailforks), followed by location in miles of the clue on the trail, followed by whether the mileage was measured in the uphill or downhill direction of the trail. Finding all the clues will not frustrate you to tears, but it won’t be simple either. But fun? We think so
